New IL State Troopers Receive Pay Boost

New state troopers who graduate from the Illinois State Police Academy are in line to receive a starting salary of 90-thousand dollars. State Police Director Brendan Kelly says the starting salary reflects the competition for new recruits and the need to make service in the state police force more of a career for new police. Kelly says the state’s financial condition and series of balanced budgets have made the higher salaries possible.
