(Champaign, IL) — The Illinois Fighting Illini are adding another transfer to their basketball program. Former Notre Dame forward Carey Booth announced that he is transferring to Illinois. Booth averaged six-point-four points and four-point-three rebounds during his freshman season with the Fighting Irish. He is the fourth transfer to commit to the Illini since the end of the 2023-24 season.

(Oakland, CA) — The St. Louis Cardinals scored a pair of runs in the top of the sixth to earn a 3-2 win over the Oakland A’s at the Oakland Coliseum. Steven Matz starts for the Cardinals against Oakland this afternoon.

(Phoenix, AZ) — The Chicago Cubs surrendered a late three-run lead during a 12-11 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field. The 10-and-7 Cubs send Jordan Wicks to the mound against Arizona today.

(Chicago, IL) — Yesterday’s game between the Chicago White Sox and Kansas City Royals was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader starting this afternoon at 1:10PM. The second game will begin approximately 30 to 45 minutes following the conclusion of the opener. Chicago is 2-and-14 to begin the season. In other club news, the Southsiders completed a minor league deal with outfielder Tommy Pham yesterday.
