Lewis Ray Farmer, 87, of Fairfield passed away at 9:55AM on Monday May 20, 2024, at Aperion Care in Fairfield. He had been a cabinet maker, carpenter, and refinished bathtubs. Lewis was born in Wayne County on July 23, 1936, to Melvin and Mamie (Harrison) Farmer. He married Glenda Mae Thompson on August 19, 1955.
Lewis is survived by his wife Glenda Farmer of Fairfield; sons- Loren Farmer of Fairfield and Kevin (Deanne) Farmer of Melbourne FL; daughters- Kathy Farmer of Fairfield and Crystal (Eddie) McAvoy of Indianapolis IN; seven grandchildren; Clayton (Melissa) Merrick, Andrea (Drew) Ward, Mandy (Tim) Nickens, Jon Farmer, James Merrick Jr, Brandon Hamilton, and Baylea Hamilton. several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; nieces- Sandra Sparlin and Sue Gregory also survive.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Eldon and Richard Farmer, and nephew Rodger Farmer.
Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Friday May 24, 2024, at Maple Hill Cemetery. Friends and family are asked to go directly to the cemetery. The family has requested casual dress.
Memorials may be made to Kings Chapel Church and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of all the arrangements.
