Dolores Ann (Sigwerth) Clark, 86, of Fairfield, IL and formerly of Dahlgren, IL passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in Fairfield, IL.
Dolores was born on June 1, 1938 in Mt. Vernon, IL, the daughter of Orpha (Sigwerth) Rector. On December 31, 1954 she married Raymond “Sam” Clark, who preceded her in death.
Dolores worked as an Unemployment Officer for the State of Illinois Department of Employment Services in Mt. Vernon, IL. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Fairfield, IL.
Dolores loved reading, cooking, and singing. She also was known for doing volunteer work. She volunteered at the local food bank in Fairfield, IL; she wrapped gifts for children in need at Christmas time, and she cooked and served breakfast for the Fairfield Fire Department’s food delivery at Christmas. More than anything else, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Dolores is survived by her daughter Belinda Katy Shook of Fairfield, 2 grandchildren: Hannah (Les) Cline of Cisne, IL and Joshua (Kayla) Shook of Dahlgren, IL; and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother Orpha (Sigwerth) Rector, her husband Raymond “Sam” Clark, and a brother N.J. Sigwerth.
Funeral services for Dolores Ann (Sigwerth) Clark will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 17, 2024 at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren, IL with Pastor Troy Shook officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service at Richardson Hill Cemetery in Dahlgren.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to assist with final expenses, and may be made to the care of Belinda Katy Shook, and will be accepted at Gholson Funeral Home in Dahlgren or McLeansboro, or at Dye Pretty Salon in Fairfield, IL.
