Benjamin L. (Benny) Healy, 74, of Enfield, Illinois, died Saturday, June 22, 2024, at his home. He was born April 23, 1950, in Evansville, Indiana, the son of Fred and Edith (Ledbetter) Healy. He was married to Sally (Krug) Healy, and she survives.

 

Benny had a special quality that he loved to be kind, loyal, and generous and helpful to everyone – especially the elderly. He loved the Lord and was so proud of Ashland Christian Church where he served as a Deacon. Benny was retired as a maintenance worker at Wabash Christian Village in Carmi, Illinois. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 677 in Enfield, Illinois, and was an animal lover, and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being in the outdoors.

 

Survivors include his wife, Sally Healy of Enfield, Illinois; granddaughter Alexandrea Healy; great-grandchild Scarlett Smith; nieces and nephews, many friends, his Ashland Christian Church family; his cat, Cougie; and his dog Peanut.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; previous wife of 25 years, Christy Healy; son Stephen Healy; brother John N. Healy; and his favorite dog Rollie.

 

Visitation and funeral are Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi, Illinois. Visitation is 9-11 am. Funeral service will begin with Masonic Rites at 11am, followed by burial in Bruce Chapel Cemetery west of Carmi, Illinois.

 

Memorials may be made to Cook Funeral Chapel to assist with funeral expenses.
