Local Law Enforcement officials were busy over the weekend.
Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a rural Fairfield woman due to a failure to appear warrant. 21-year-old, Valerie K. Brockett was apprehended for driving with a suspended or revoked driver’s license. The warrant for Brockett’s arrest dated back to June 10th. In addition, Sheriff’s Deputies also arrested a man from Osseo, Michigan on a DUI charge. At 9:50 PM on Saturday, 41-year-old Dwayne D. VanVleet was pulled over by authorities. VanVleet also faces a charge of illegal transportation of alcohol. He was processed and later released from the Wayne County Jail.
On Friday afternoon, Olney Police took into custody a Fairfield man with multiple warrants. 33-year-old Stephen Michael Thomas from Fairfield was arrested for various failure to appear warrants issued by Wayne County. These warrants included charges related to criminal trespass to real property, disorderly conduct, and possession of meth. Thomas was eventually transported and booked in the Wayne County Jail.
Illinois State Police arrested a man from McAndrews, Kentucky for a DUI charge. Thomas Allen Carter, age 64, was processed and released on Friday from the Wayne County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Wayne County Court on July 18th.
Fairfield City Police apprehended a Fairfield man for a failure to appear warrant and drug-related charges. Just shortly after one Sunday morning, 41-year-old Michael Shane Toney was taken into custody and charged with possession and delivery of a controlled substance. Toney was also wanted on a warrant from Wayne County for Obstruction of Justice.
A man from Ridgway was arrested by Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies on Saturday for several failure to appear warrants issued by Wayne County, dating back to 2021. Cody E. Tipton, age 37, was sought for various charges including operation of an uninsured motor vehicle, use of a vehicle with cancelled, revoked, or suspended plates, driving with a suspended or revoked license, possession of adult-use cannabis in a motor vehicle, and DUI drugs. The warrant was issued on June 11th, and Tipton was booked into the Wayne County Jail.
