“DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER” CAMPAIGN

By Mark Wells Jul 2, 2024 | 11:53 AM

The Illinois Department of Transportation, along with law enforcement, is launching the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign for the July Fourth holiday. They are cracking down on impaired driving, which caused 15 fatal crashes and 16 deaths last year. Police will enforce seat belt laws and combat speeding. It’s crucial to wear a seat belt and designate a sober driver if you plan to drink. The campaign runs until July 8th and is part of the broader safety initiative “It’s Not a Game.” Stay safe on the roads and report impaired drivers to law enforcement.
