2024 FAIRFIELD MULES FREE YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP

Fairfield Mules Football Coach, Justin Townsend and other local football coaches are holding a FREE Youth Football camp in Fairfield on Wednesday, July 17th. There are two different sessions for youth from Kindergarten to 8th grade. See the details below:
Students entering K-2nd (5:00-6:30)
Students entering 3rd-8th (6:30-8:00)
All participants must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver before their son or daughter can participate in camp. The waiver is on our Facebook page and forms will also be available at the camp on Wednesday, July 17th.

MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL:

Willson Contreras and the Cardinals beat down the Nationals 8-3 from the Nation’s Capital. The designated hitter went two-for-five at the dish with a two-run homer and three RBI. Nolan Arenado also recorded a pair of hits to go with two RBI as every member of the starting lineup tallied at least one hit. Kyle Gibson earned the win after giving up three runs on nine hits over five innings. St. Louis has won three of its last five and remains second in the NL Central at 47-and-42. Miles Mikolas starts for St. Louis against Washington this afternoon at 3:05.

Helsley Makes Second All-Star Game

Ryan Helsley is heading to Arlington. The Cardinals closer was selected to the National League roster for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game yesterday. Helsley will be in the bullpen for the NL team. The 29-year-old leads the Senior Circuit with 31 saves, and he has a 3-and-3 record with a 2.41 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 41 innings. The All-Star Game will be played on July 16th.

The Cubs shut out the Angels 5-0 to win their three-game series at Wrigley Field. Chicago is now in last place in the NL Central at 42-and-49. The Cubs visit Baltimore tomorrow afternoon at 5:35. In other club news, starting pitcher Shota Imanaga was selected to the National League roster for the 2024 MLB All-Star Game yesterday.
