MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL:

The Cardinals shut out the Nationals 6-0 to claim their series from DC. Miles Mikolas earned the win after giving up six hits and striking out three batters over six-plus innings. Alec Burleson went 2-for-5 with a solo homer and three RBI. Paul Goldschmidt also went deep with a solo homer, while Brendan Donovan recorded a pair of hits to go with an RBI. St. Louis has won four of its last five to remain second in the NL Central at 48-and-42. Andre Pallante takes the mound when St. Louis hosts Kansas City tonight at 6:45.

The Cubs begin a seven-game road trip when they take on the Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards tonight. The Cubs are coming off a series win over the Los Angeles Angels this past weekend, but they remain in last place in the NL Central at 42-and-49. Jameson Taillon starts for the Northsiders tonight. First pitch is at 5:35PM.

The White Sox surrendered two runs in the top of the 11th inning during an 8-6 loss to the Minnesota Twins. The Southsiders have dropped their last three games and remain in last place in the AL Central at 26-and-67.and take on Minnesota again tonight at 7:10.
