USDA WEEKLY CROP PROGRESS AND CONDITION REPORT

The latest USDA crop progress report indicates that 67% of corn and 66% of soybeans are in good to excellent condition. There were 5.4 days suitable for fieldwork, with temperatures averaging 73.2 degrees and precipitation slightly above normal at 1.18 inches. Topsoil moisture supply is mostly adequate, while subsoil moisture supply shows similar levels. Corn development is ahead of the 5-year average, with 39% silking and 1% dough. Soybeans are also progressing well, with 43% blooming and 9% setting pods. Corn condition ranges from very poor to excellent, while soybean condition is mostly good to excellent. Winter wheat harvesting for grain is ahead of the 5-year average at 93%.
