41-year-old Jason Hammock of Olney was found guilty late Wednesday afternoon in Wayne County Circuit Court on two counts of predatory sexual assault of a minor under the age of 13. A jury of 3 women and 9 men deliberated for an hour and ten minutes before reaching the verdict. The incident took place in February, 2018 and was then reported in May to April Smith who was at the time Principal at Center St. Grade School. On May 23rd, 2018, Taylor Parker, an Investigator with the Amy Schulze Children’s Advocacy Center conducted a forensic investigation into the case and Justin Titzer, who was at the time a Detective with the Fairfield Police Department after questioning Hammock on that same day, took him into custody on the charges. During the trial, the jury heard testimony from Titzer, the two victims in the case, Hammock himself and Beth Richards, the school district’s social worker. Hammock is in the Wayne CountyJail with sentencing scheduled in Wayne County Circuit Court at 9am Friday, September 6th.
