Just  before 2 o’clock Thursday morning, a McLeansboro man, 28-year-old Patrick E. Vaughan, was arrested on meth-related charges following a traffic stop on Illinois 149 near I-57 in West Frankfort. The driver, 48-year-old Kimberly A. Flanders from Harrisburg, was found to not have a valid driver’s license during the stop.

After gathering information during the stop, Franklin County deputies conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle. It was during this search that methamphetamine and methamphetamine drug paraphernalia were discovered. Vaughan, identified as the passenger in the vehicle, was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine—a Class 3 felony, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia—a Class A misdemeanor. He was taken into custody and lodged in the Franklin County Jail.

Flanders, on the other hand, was charged with No Valid Driver’s License and was cited and released.
