A Mt. Vernon woman is dead following a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday. 31-year old, Aimee Bockhol was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash on northbound Route 37 near Old Salem Road and Radio Tower Road.
According to reports, Bockhol veered across the centerline of the road and collided with the rear of a southbound car driven by Leroy Tucker, an 81-year-old resident of Madison, Illinois. Tucker’s vehicle spun in the roadway before coming to a stop in the northbound lane. Bockhol’s car then went on to collide with a southbound semi driven by Conner Kempf, a 27-year-old from Jasper, Indiana. Kempf’s semi veered into the ditch before returning across both lanes of Route 37. Both Kempf and Tucker were transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.
