A Vernon, IL woman was airlifted from the scene of a vehicle accident late last (Thursday) night on County HWY 16 at County RD 1600E near the Cisne curve. Wayne County Sheriff’s Department says at 11:58 pm, a 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by 22-year-old Emily Jenkins was traveling westbound on County HWY 16 when the vehicle for unknown reasons left the roadway and overturned. Jenkins was airlifted by Air Evac helicopter to Deaconness Midtown Hospital in Evansville for treatment of her injuries.
