An upcoming auction event at the Illinois State Fair will feature 250 unclaimed property lots for public preview tomorrow (Thursday) before the live auction next month. Among the items up for auction are a woman’s 18-karat yellow gold Rolex Oyster watch, football cards of Mike Singletary and Troy Aikman, uncut sheets of American currency, collectible coins, bills, and bars of precious metals.
Interested bidders can attend the auction preview at the Marine Bank Building in Springfield from 10 am to 3 pm tomorrow. High-resolution photos of some items will be posted on the Illinois Treasurer’s website for a sneak peek.
Treasurer Michael Frerichs will act as a guest auctioneer for select top items at the live auction, which kicks off at 11 am on Saturday, August 17th at the Lincoln Stage on the Illinois State Fairgrounds. Additional items up for auction include a Victorian silver-and-gold handmade sword pin adorned with diamonds and rubies, a U.S. gold coin bracelet, as well as a diverse selection of jewelry and unique collectibles.
The unclaimed property has been divided into 250 lots, with some lots containing a single item and others featuring multiple items.
