RAY TATE APPEARS VIA ZOOM IN WAYNE COUNTY CIRCUIT COURT TUESDAY

Ray Tate appeared before Judge Denton Aud Tuesday morning via Zoom from Menard Correctional Center on Tate’s motion to withdraw his guilty plea in the death of Wayne County Deputy, Sean Riley.  Tate pleaded guilty to murdering Deputy Riley in December of 2021 and was sentenced to life in prison.  A hearing was set in Wayne County Circuit Court for Tate to officially withdraw the guilty plea and that date will be August 23rd at 9:30 am in Wayne County Circuit Court.
