WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT HANDLES TWO ACCIDENTS

Wayne County Sheriff’s Department handles two accidents in the county.  On Saturday morning at 7:45, deputies responded to a two vehicle accident with injuries on Rt. 45 at the intersection of County Rd 200N in Barnhill Township.  Deputies say a 2011 Ford F150 driven by 16-year-old Riley Jolly of Fairfield was stopped in traffic southbound to turn left on county rd 200N when a 2019 Dodge van driven by 68-year-old Marilyn Vaughan of Fairfield failed to slow or stop and struck the Jolly vehicle in the rear and then hit a flashing light pole.  Jolly was not injured however, Vaughan was transported by Wayne County EMS personnel to Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  Vaughan was issued a citation for Failing To Reduce Speed To Avoid An Accident.

 

 

Just before 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon, deputies responded to Rt. 15 East just East of County Rd 105E in Four Mile Township.  A 2017 Toyota van driven by 69-year-old Doris Kraemer of Wayne City was traveling eastbound of Rt. 15 near county Rd 210E when Kraemer slowed for traffic.  A 2013 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 43-year-old Jamie Jones of Mt. Vernon failed to reduce speed and stuck the Kraemer vehicle.  No injuries were reported and Jamie Jones was cited for Failing To Reduce Speed To Avoid An Accident.
