A Bluford man has been arrested following a vehicle pursuit in Jefferson County.
Just shortly before 5 O’clock Tuesday afternoon, a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office deputy on duty attempted to pull over a speeding white 2021 Chevy Malibu on IL Hwy 15 near North Dartmouth Lane in Mt. Vernon.
After the Malibu sped south on N. Dartmouth Ln, the deputy initiated a pursuit. The chase wound through Liberty Road, Log Cabin Lane, and Lynchberg Road before ending at the intersection of Opdyke Lane, where both vehicles crashed off the road.
Neither the deputy nor the driver, identified as 22-year-old Brendan T. Frazier from Bluford, Illinois, sustained injuries. The deputy’s squad truck was able to be driven from the scene.
Frazier was arrested following the crash and taken to the Jefferson County Justice Center for processing.
Frazier faces charges including aggravated fleeing/attempting to elude a peace officer, felony driving with a suspended license, reckless driving, and various other traffic violations.
