The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA), the Illinois Department of Agriculture, and the Illinois State Fair are extending a special invitation to veterans and their family members for a complimentary day at the Illinois State Fair on Sunday. This annual event features programs, music, and a resource fair, culminating in a parade led by Governor JB Pritzker, IDVA Director Terry Prince, various veterans’ organizations, JROTC teams, and IDVA staff. The theme for this year is “Serving the Generations.”
Veterans and their families can gain free admission by presenting any form of military ID, while parking is not included in the offer.
The schedule for the day’s events is as follows:
10:00 am: JROTC Competition begins
11:30 am: Performance by the 144th Army Band
1:00 pm: Entertainment
3:00 pm: JROTC Award Ceremony
4:00 pm: Veterans Day Parade
It promises to be a day filled with celebration, recognition, and appreciation for the service and sacrifices of our veterans.
