WAYNE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT INVESTIGATES CRASH IN CONSTRUCTION ZONE

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a vehicle accident in a construction zone just after 8 O’clock Monday morning east of Fairfield.  Deputies say a 1994 Peterbilt semi truck driven by 66-year- old Ronald Chapman of Fairfield was eastbound on IL Rt. 15 just east of Fairfield through a construction zone when the semi for unknown reasons struck the bridge railing.  Chapman was not injured.
