The Fall Sports season is here and Fairfield Community High School will be hosting, “Meet The Mules” this Friday night at the Train Yard. Events will begin at 5:45 with Cross Country, Tennis, Golf, and Volleyball team introductions followed by a Volleyball scrimmage in the newly remodeled Mule Barn. At 6:45, Football and Cheerleader introductions will take place before the Mules and the Olney Tigers play a scrimmage game. This is something new this year as the IHSA is giving schools the option to have a football pre-season scrimmage. Admission to the scrimmage will be free. The Mules were scheduled to open up the season Saturday, August 31st against Vienna/Goreville, but for the third time in the last four seasons, Vienna-Goreville will not play a varsity football schedule. FCHS Athletic Director and Mules Head football Coach, Justin Townsend has actively been trying to fill the August 31st date with an opponent, but attempts have been unsuccessful and the Mules will get a forfeit win over Vienna-Goreville. The first home game for the Mules against Eldorado will be Friday, September 6th with kick-off at 7pm
