MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL:
The St. Louis Cardinals are back in action when they host the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch Stadium tonight. The Cardinals are coming off a series loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend. St. Louis is in second place in the NL Central at 61-and-63, but they trail Milwaukee by 11 games. The Cards are also five games back of the final NL Wild Card spot. Erick Fedde takes the mound on for the Cardinals tonight. First pitch is at 6:45PM.
The Chicago Cubs look to get back in the win column when they host the Detroit Tigers at Wrigley Field tonight. The Cubs won their three-game series against the Toronto Blue Jays over the weekend. Chicago is in third place in the NL Central at 61-and-64, and the Cubs sit five-and-a-half games out of the final NL Wild Card spot. Javier Assad starts for the Northsiders tonight. First pitch is at 7:05PM.
The Chicago White Sox gave up four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning during a 5-3 loss to the San Francisco Giants at Oracle Park. Luis Robert Jr. hit an RBI single in the top half of the frame to give the Sox and early lead before the Giants got to Jonathan Cannon. Cannon was charged with his seventh loss after allowing five runs on eight hits in six innings. The Southsiders are in last place in the AL Central at 30-and-96. Davis Martin takes the mound for Chicago against San Francisco tonight.

The St. Louis Blues will find out whether or not they officially have a pair of new players joining their squad today. The Edmonton Oilers have to decide today whether or not they want to match St. Louis’ offer sheets for restricted free agents Dylan Holloway and Philip Broberg. The Blues signed the pair to offer sheets last Tuesday, but the Oilers can keep one or both players if they match the offers.
