By Mark Wells Aug 21, 2024 | 5:51 AM

Perdue Foods has issued a recall for 167,000 pounds of frozen chicken nuggets and tenders due to potential contamination with metal. The company explained that some chicken products may have been affected after a thin metal wire was accidentally introduced into the manufacturing process. The recall specifically pertains to 22-ounce packages of breaded chicken breast nuggets and 29-ounce packages of chicken breast tenders.

Following customer complaints about finding metal wire in the food, Perdue reported the issue to the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service. Fortunately, there have been no reports of illnesses or adverse reactions associated with the contaminated chicken products.
