A benefit barbecue cookout for Wayne County Coroner, Carrie Jo Dagg will be held on Saturday, August 31st starting at 10am on the parking lot of Save A Lot in Fairfield. Smoked barbecue by Josh Glisson will be served along with pork chops and pork burgers. On July 2nd, Dagg was diagnosed with a tumor on the brain. The surgery to remove the tumor was on July 6th in St. Louis. The pathology report indicated that the tumor was an aggressive form of cancer called, Glioblastoma (GLEE-OH-BLASTOW-MUH). Carrie Jo is moving forward with a combined treatment of chemotherapy and radiation. All proceeds from this cookout will go to Carrie Jo Dagg to help offset medical expenses. The benefit cookout is a joint effort with Beyond The Badge FOP Lodge 303.
