It is with great sadness we announce that Pat Gale, 93, of Fairfield, passed away at 8:58pm on Friday, September 6, 2024.
Patricia Amma (Emery) Gale was born in Paris, Illinois on July 14,1931 to Morley and Mary (Musgrove) Emery. She married Charles (Chuck) Gale on February 3, 1953.
Pat, also known as the voice of Airtex, was a prominent figure at Airtex Products in Fairfield, where she worked as a telephone receptionist for 44 years. Pat was known for her ability to recognize and remember voices over the phone. If anyone needed anything done, they knew to call Pat.
In her free time, Pat adored animals and loved watching football and participating in sports. She was an avid tennis player, winning fourth place in doubles 1990 national USTA 3.0 with her daughter, Carmita, and the Fairfield women’s tennis team. She also pitched softball and was an excellent bowler, bowling a perfect 300 game. Pat was an active member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church teaching adult Sunday school for over 40 years. She was most proud of singing soprano in the choir
Pat was a devoted and loving mother to three children, who she raised in Fairfield. Surviving her are Carmita (Nick) DiMarco of Lakewood Ranch, FL, Tanya Gale of Fairfield, IL, and R.Dane (Karen) Gale of Millstadt, IL. Also surviving are her six grandchildren Katina Strange (Steve) Boergerhoff of Highland, IL , Brandon (Michelle) Frick of Buford, GA, Jerad Gale of Effingham, IL and Jeffrey Nolin of St. Louis, MO., Madeline (Joe) Langdon of Jacksonville, IL and Hilary (Alex) Schobert of St. Louis, MO. Pat’s ten great-grandchildren include Reyna Boergerhoff, Evan Boergerhoff, Ryan Frick, J.P. Frick, Sophie Frick, Olivia Frick, Rowen Jackson, August Jackson, Fallon Schobert, and Margot Schobert.
Preceding her in death were her parents Morley and Mary Emery, her husband, Chuck Gale, brothers Col. Morley L. Emery, USAF (ret.) SMS Eugene Emery, USAF (ret.), and sisters-in-law Alice Emery and Jimmie Emery.
Funeral services for Pat Gale will be at 12pm on Saturday, September 14th at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield, with burial to follow in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made to the Cornerstone Community Church and will be accepted at the Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
