FAIRFIELD POLICE ANNOUNCE TRAFFIC DETOUR ROUTES FOR THE UPCOMING FAIRFIELD FALL FUN FEST

The Fairfield Fall Fun Fest will begin next week and Fairfield Police Chief, Keith Colclasure says beginning Wednesday, September 18th, at 12:01 AM, E Main Street will be closed at Fourth Street. The official detour route assigned by the Illinois Department of Transportation is Main Street, south on SE Fourth Street to E Center Street, west to S First Street and returning to Main via north on First. The City of Fairfield asks all residents and businesses who park in the 100 blocks of NE Second, SE Second, NE Third and SE Third Streets, as well as the 100 through 300 blocks of E Main Street to remove their vehicles to alternate locations before the street closure. No parking signs will also be placed along the detour route to assist with traffic flow.
