Mihai Murineanu, 46, of Crawfordsville, formerly of Covington, passed away unexpectedly as a result of an automobile accident on Monday, September 9, 2024.
He was born July 23, 1978, in Gaesti, Romania to the late Tanase-Constantin and Marieana Murineanu. He was a 1996 graduate of Gaesti High school in Romania and graduated with a Master’s Degree in Physical Education from the National Academy of Physical Education and Sports in Bucharest, Romania. He was a Charis Bible College alumnus and was working on his master’s degree from White Horse School of Ministry. On December 16, 2005, he married Melissa Van Norman of Cisne, IL in Macomb, IL. In 2010, he received his United States citizenship, which was one of his proudest moments in life.
Mihai worked as a Physical Education Teacher at Mark Denman Elementary School in Danville, IL. He was a leader of Association of Related Ministries International (A.R.M.I.) and lead a daily Bible devotional. He loved the Lord and discipling others. He enjoyed running, watching movies with his family, hunting with his son, and going on Dad-Son and Dad-Daughter dates with his children. He was very family-oriented and cherished every moment that he spent with them. Mihai’s greatest desire was to stand before the Lord Jesus and hear “Well done, good and faithful servant”.
Along with his wife, Melissa, he is survived by 2 children whom he adored, Jaxen and Novella Murineanu of Crawfordsville; 4 brothers, Puiu (Carolina) Murineau, Titi Murineanu, Doru Murineanu, and Petre Matei; 4 sisters, Elena (Tibi) Matei, Marilena (Dragos) Bacanu, Ioana Murineanu, and Dorina (Antonio) Espinosa, Luminita (Constantin) Radulescu all of Romania; sister-in-law, Marjorie (Steve) Jordan of Rinard, IL; mother-in-law, Mary Redenbo of Hoopeston, IL; uncle-in-law, Butch (Carrie) Lingafelter; 13 nieces and nephews, Mihaela, Kevin, Amira, Alexandru, Victor, Valentin, Alina, Marina, George, Alin, Ciprian all of Romania and Nicole (Bryant) Simpson and Melanie Jordan of Rinard, IL; great-nephew, Liam Simpson; and 3 cousins-in-law, Blake, Ella, and Viviana Lingafelter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tanase-Constantin and Marieana Murineanu.

Visitation will be from 9:00 am (EST) until time of service at 11:00 am (EST), Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Soller-Baker, Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, IN 47909 with Pastor Jeff Johns officiating.
Interment will follow at 3:30 pm (CST), Jacob Chapel Cemetery, 1651 County Highway 13, Xenia, IL 62899.
