The Clay City Fall Festival begins this afternoon. The parade lineup starts at 4 PM along the frontage road by Community Southern Baptist Church, and the parade will start at 6:30 PM.
Saturday’s events will begin with the Clay City Fire Department breakfast at the firehouse from 6 to 10 AM, with donations accepted. Raffle tickets will also be available for a chance to win prizes including a half hog, a liquor cooler, or $250 in cash.
Additional Saturday highlights include a tractor show starting at 8 AM, and inflatables opening at 9 AM alongside the Frog Jumping Contest. A basket raffle will run from 9 AM to 4 PM; anyone wishing to contribute a basket can call or text 618-839-1639, 618-676-5277, or 618-320-1317. Baskets should be dropped off at The Pit Stop Café by 2 PM on Friday, September 13th. Lazer tag will be available from 10 AM to 3 PM, and pedal tractors will be ready by 11 AM. The cornhole tournament kicks off at noon, with a $40 entry fee per team and a 70% payout for the top three teams. Cody Galloway will provide live music from noon to 2 PM. The Cake Walk is scheduled for 1:30 PM; those wishing to donate a dessert should also drop it off at The Pit Stop Café by 2 PM on Friday. The dunking booth and karaoke will begin at 3 PM.
The fire department will sell pork chop sandwiches starting at 5 PM, followed by the Crowning of the Kings and Queens at 5:15 PM. The auction will commence at 6 PM, and the evening will conclude with a performance by the Orry Kraw Band from 8 PM until midnight.
On Sunday, a worship service will be held in Mill’s Park at 10:30 AM, featuring the Fortress Quartet, presented by the Clay City Ministerial Alliance.
