The Little Wabash Fire Protection District responded to a fire on Tuesday west of Grayville, which was caused by an uncovered oilfield flare. The fire resulted in the destruction of approximately 17 acres of standing corn. Mutual aid was provided by the Crossville and Albion Fire Departments. A drone from the White County Ambulance Service helped guide firefighters to the outskirts of the blaze, enhancing their firefighting efforts. The affected land is owned by Georgia Davis and was being farmed by the Jack Rahmoeller family. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
