A Robinson Trucking and Logistics Company that had a contract with the US Postal Service to transport mail, has informed more than 650 employees—over 480 of whom are drivers—that it is shutting down operations. Former truck drivers from Midwest Transport shared that they received calls from their regional managers late Thursday, notifying them of the company’s decision to cease operations. This development has been confirmed by former senior managers and truck drivers associated with the mail contractor. FreightWaves has verified with several former senior managers and truck drivers associated with the mail contractor that the company is indeed ceasing operations.
According to Finnick Cromwell, Postmaster at the Fairfield Post Office, this closing does NOT affect the mail operations in this area as the Fairfield region contracts with another regional trucking company.
