Dorothy “Dottie” Marie McGuffin, 83, of Fairfield went to join her buddies and family in Heaven at 12:18PM Thursday September 19, 2024. She had retired from Eureka, a vacuum factory, where she had been employed for twenty-five plus years. Dottie was born in St. Croix WI on September 23, 1940, to Everett and Clara (Rice) Gullixon.
Dottie was an original one of kind lady. She enjoyed listening to country music, watching wrestling and Hee-Haw. One of her favorite things to was to travel to Nashville TN to visit the Midnight Jamboree, Earnest Tubb Record Shop, and the Grand Ole Opry. Dottie’s life quote was “It’s no fun being normal.”
Dottie is survived by her children- Kenneth (Terri) McGuffin Sr of Evansville IN, Ronnie (Karen) McGuffin of Waynesville IL, Dale McGuffin of Stanford IL, Delaney (Lisa) Maria of Morton IL, Tom McGuffin of Dewitt IL, Tammy Powers of Fairfield, and Marcia (Ric) Behm of Stanford IL; 10 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, brother- Jim (Ursla) Gullixson of Hammond WI; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Dottie was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Morris “Gene” McGuffin, three sisters and one brother.
A celebration of life visitation will be held from 4-6PM on Tuesday September 24, 2024, at Johnson and Vaughn Funeral Home. Dottie will be laid to rest next to her husband on Wednesday at Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington IL.
