Carmi Police is seeking the public’s assistance following an incident last Thursday afternoon. A report was made by a woman at the Carmi Dairy Queen just before 5:30 PM. She witnessed an older man trying to coax two young girls, aged 11 and 12, into his vehicle. Another witness nearby called the police while the first woman ensured the girls’ safety by following them as they ran away.
The suspect drove a dark, dirty, older model Kia SUV, possibly a Sorento, and was last seen heading west from the Dairy Queen. He was described as wearing a blue and white flannel shirt and possibly having a mustache.
