FAIRFIELD POLICE RESPOND TO CRASH MONDAY NIGHT AT WEST MAIN & FIRST ST

Fairfield Police respond to a report of a traffic accident Monday night at West Main and First Streets.  Officers say just before 10pm, a 2013 Lincoln, driven by Trevor  Edwards, 23 of Mill Shoals was traveling south on First Street, approaching W Main St.   As Edwards began to turn west onto Main St., Edwards stated the power steering went out of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed Main Street and struck an Illinois Department of Transportation traffic control box. As result the traffic lights at Main and First were inoperable. Edwards was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The Lincoln was towed from the scene.
