Wayne County Sheriff’s Department along with Clay County EMS personnel responded to a one-vehicle accident Sunday morning on County Hwy 1 at County Rd 2100N in Zif Township just south of Clay City. Deputies report a 1995 Ford F150 driven by 20-year-old Derek M Bradham of Clay City was traveling north on County Hwy 1 when the driver of the vehicle, Bradham fell asleep. The vehicle traveled off a curve in the roadway at County Rd2100N and down an embankment striking a tree that had fallen in the ditch. Bradham received minor injuries and was treated by Clay County EMS on the scene. A female passenger in the vehicle, 20-year-old MacKenzie Frederick of Clay City received injuries and was transported to Fairfield Memorial Hospital by Clay County Ambulance. Bradham was cited for Operating An Uninsured Vehicle and Failure To Reduce Speed To Avoid An Accident.
