CLAY COUNTY CORONER RELEASES THE NAME OF THE SUBJECT KILLED IN A MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT FRIDAY

Illinois State Police Troop 9 responded to a motor vehicle crash just after 12 noon Friday on US Rt. 50, a 1/4 mile west of the Xenia/Iola intersection involving two cars and a semi.  Clay County Coroner, Bryce Henry says 59-year-old Mia Daniels from Monticello, Arkansas was pronounced dead at the scene.  Henry says Daniels was traveling westbound when she was struck almost head-on by an eastbound car attempting to pass a semi.  An autopsy was scheduled to assist with the investigation as numerous emergency personnel from Clay County responded to the scene.  The Illinois State Police is continuing their investigation into the fatal accident.
