Two individuals are facing gun-related charges following a disturbance that involved reports of shots fired in the 400 block of North Broadway in Waltonville on Sunday night.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, 58-year-old Christopher M. Redman is charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Possession of a Firearm with an expired FOID card. Sixty-eight-year-old David P. Spotanski has been charged with Reckless Discharge of a Firearm and Aggravated Assault with a Firearm. Both men are now in custody at the Jefferson County Jail.

The incident unfolded just before 8 PM when deputies, along with officers from Mt. Vernon Police, responded to the scene. After some time, they managed to make contact with Redman, who was inside the home. He exited without incident and was taken into custody. At that point, it was confirmed that no one else was inside the residence.

After securing the home, deputies interviewed Redman and several witnesses, which led them to identify another individual involved in the disturbance. Spotanski was located at 316 N. Hirons St., where he was also taken into custody without further incident.
