FAIRFIELD COIN CLUB 54TH ANNUAL SHOW AND AUCTION

The Fairfield Coin Club is holding its 54th Annual Coin Show and Auction on October 13, 2024 at the North Side Grade School. The doors will open to the public at 9:00 AM. Hourly door prizes begin at 10:00 AM, and auction lots will be on display starting at this time.

At 1:00 PM there will be special awards and presentations, with the penny stacking contest at 1:30 PM and the Junior auction at 2:00 PM. The regular auction begins at 2:30 PM and raffle winners will be drawn at 3:00 PM.

 

Every year the Fairfield Coin Club awards two $500 scholarships to Frontier Community College students. This year’s recipients are Reily Titzer, Rebecca Ann Young and the Larry Kauble Memorial Scholarship goes to Abra Slover.  Reily Titzer Graduated Fairfield High School in May 2024. Reily Plans to get his Associates degree at Frontier Community College and has already been accepted at SIU for the fall 2025 semester. Reily will major in Finance and obtain his Bachelor’s Degree. Following SIU he plans to become an Illinois State Police Officer or a US Marshall.

 

Rebecca Ann Young Graduated Wayne City High School May 2004 and has an expected graduation from Frontier Community College in May of 2025. Rebecca is working as an LPN and Fairfield Memorial Hospital and plans to get her ADN and become an RN.

 

The Larry Kauble Memorial Scholarship is awarded to Abra Slover; she graduated from Cisne May of 2018. Abra’s goal is to become an RN in May 2025 and to continue her education and get her BSN. Abra currently works at Good Samaritan Hospital as a surgery support technician.

 

 

Raffle prizes will be awarded and raffle tickets are 6 tickets for $5.00. If you would like to purchase tickets contact a Fairfield Coin Club member. Winners must be present to win the fifth place prize only. This raffle will be drawn at 3:00 PM.

 

The penny stacking contest is for kids 14 and under. All kids are given 100 pennies and are given 10 minutes to stack the tallest height and the winner receives a prize. The tallest stack of pennies at this time is 6 ½ feet .The kids are also given $60.00 in play money to bid in the special junior auction and are allowed to take what they buy home with them.

 

There will be 21 tables with dealers present . Persons attending the show can buy , sell and trade coins and currency . There will be dealers with US mint and also foreign coins as well. Bring in your coins to have them appraised or to sell them.

 

Jacque’s Lunchbox will be present with food to purchase at the show. Menu will be BBQ Sandwiches, BBQ baked Potatoes and BBQ nachos chips and drinks.
