The Hamilton Memorial Hospital District Board of Directors and executive leadership team have announced the appointment of Jenee Wilson, RN, as the new Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of Hamilton Memorial Hospital.
Wilson brings a wealth of leadership and clinical experience, reinforcing HMHD’s dedication to exceptional patient care and advancing clinical excellence. She joined Hamilton Memorial in 2017 as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department and was promoted to Nurse Manager in 2020. In 2021, she took on the role of Quality and Risk Management Director.
In her previous position, Wilson played a key role in developing and implementing organization-wide Quality Assessment and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives. She significantly enhanced incident reporting and analysis through the Just Culture initiative and led the establishment of the patient care coordination department, which supports the organization’s Accountable Care Organization (ACO) efforts.
Wilson has been serving as the Interim CNO since August 1st. Before her time at Hamilton Memorial, she gained extensive experience in emergency departments in both Carbondale and Mt. Vernon.
Her appointment follows a thorough committee search process initiated in June, following the announcement of Patty Blazier’s retirement. Blazier, who served Hamilton Memorial for over 40 years, officially retired on July 31st.
