James Andrew Snow, age 77 of Iuka

James Andrew Snow, age 77 of Iuka, passed away on October 12, 2024 at SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.

James was born on May 1, 1947 in Salem the son of Loren and Rosalle (Williams) Snow.  He married Donna Rae Griffith on November 28, 1971 and she preceded him in death on January 28, 2012.

He is survived by his special friend of nine years, Linda Todd of Iuka; son, Gregory Ray Snow and significant other, Denise West of Fairfield; step-daughter, Susan Hall;  grandchildren, Sarah Walker Williams, Alyssa Rae Walker, Shania L. Snow, Shelby West, Brittany Hall, and Troy West; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Jo, Leighton, Briar, Greysyn, and Asher; siblings, John Snow and wife Reta of Salem, Joe Snow and wife Lila of Kell, Eddie Snow and wife Sherri of Iuka, and Jane Marshall and husband Raymond of Salem; nieces and nephews, David Snow, Charley Snow, Alan Snow, Austin Snow, Paul Marshall, Gayla Brubaker and husband Ray, Lehrea Petrea and husband John, DeWayne Snow and wife Donna, Laura Ann Jourdan, Jason Snow and wife Dawn, Lisa Smith, and Brian Weems; and several cousins and many other extended family members.

Preceded in death by his parents; wife; granddaughter, Makayla Walker; sister, Lois Weems and husband Keith; and a niece, Amy Follett.

James worked for the Marion County Highway Department until his retirement.  He was a hardworking man.  He worked with his brother Eddie in the “Snow Garage” working on neighbors and friends’ automobiles.  He enjoyed breakfast at Dennys, playing solitaire on the computer, road trips, and good jokes.  More than anything, Jim loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 pm on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.  Visitation will be from Noon until the time of the service.  Burial will be in Snowville Cemetery in Iuka.  Memorial contributions can be made to the family and can be received at the funeral home.  Online condolences can be left at www.CrouseFH.com.
