Benjamin and Jessica Klebba of Woodlawn have acquired the 50% ownership stake in Cattlemen’s Livestock, Inc. from brothers Barkley and Mark Barnard of Wayne County. With this purchase, Benjamin, Jessica, and their parents, Julie and Ben Klebba of Mt. Vernon, are now the sole owners and operators of the livestock auction market facility located three miles west of Wayne City.

The Klebba family is also involved in beef cattle production, owning farmland northwest of Mt. Vernon, a beef cow herd, and a cattle backgrounding operation, as well as retaining ownership of cattle until they reach market weight.

The partnership between the Barnard and Klebba families in Cattlemen’s Livestock, Inc. has spanned nearly 30 years. The new generation of owners aims to continue serving local beef producers for another 30 years, emphasizing true price discovery through the competitive method of auction marketing. The Barnard family, including Barkley, Denise, and Mark, will continue their operations as Barnard Auctions, conducting farmland, residential, and estate auctions across the region while remaining licensed auctioneers in multiple states.

Cattlemen’s Livestock, Inc. will maintain its regular auction schedule, with sales held on the first and third Mondays of each month.
