VEHICLE ACCIDENT MONDAY MORNING NORTH OF FAIRFIELD

Wayne County Sheriff’s Department along with Fairfield Rural Fire and Wayne County Ambulance personnel responded to a single-vehicle accident Monday morning at 7:40 on County Highway 1 (Enterprise Rd) at County Rd 1220N North of Fairfield in Jasper Township.  Deputies say a 2009 Ford Escape driven by 57-year-old Cheryl Savage of Fairfield was westbound on County Rd 1220N as the vehicle went over a hill crest, Savage saw a farm implement at the bottom of the hill at which time the vehicle swerved to the right, over correcting and began to skid.  The vehicle struck an embankment on the right side of the road, causing it to overturn and coming to rest on the driver’s side.  Cheryl Savage and a passenger in the vehicle, 16-year-old Gage Savage was checked out at the scene EMS personnel.
