As the holidays approach, the Midwest Food Bank and the Clothesline are organizing the annual free Christmas Food Box giveaway. This year’s event is on December 14th from 7am to 10am at the Midwest Food Bank, just south of the Fairfield Police Department off Leininger Road in Fairfield.
They are seeking monetary donations from local churches, organizations, and individuals. The food drive relies entirely on donations and volunteers, aiming to provide over 350 food boxes to families in need during the holidays.
Additionally, a Thanksgiving service will be held at the Fairfield CP Church on Outer West Delaware Street on Monday, November 25th at 6 p.m. Melissa Garrison will deliver the message, and a special offering will be collected to support the Christmas Food Box giveaway.
Donations can be dropped off at the Clothesline during business hours, Monday through Friday 9am to 4 pm. and Saturday 9am to 1pm or mailed to the Clothesline at P.O. Box 15, Fairfield, IL 62837, or to Pam Caudle at 608 East Center Street in Fairfield. Checks should be made payable to the Clothesline and are welcome now and throughout the year.
