Carmi Police stopped two men from Crossville just before midnight on Wednesday at the intersection of Main and Main Cross. 61-year-old David Selph was arrested. He faces charges of Illegal Transportation of Alcohol by a Passenger, Possession of Methamphetamine, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Unlawful Use of Property. Selph a former Cisne resident served 15 years in prison for the 2003 shooting death of John Bates of rural Cisne. Selph has been lodged in the White County Jail at Carmi pending a court appearance. The driver of the vehicle, 35-year-old Kendan Mullins was issued citations for Possession of Cannabis by a Driver, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol by a Driver, Driving with a Suspended License, and Operating a Motor Vehicle with Suspended Registration due to Mandatory Insurance. Mullins is scheduled to appear in court on December 3rd.
