Wayne County Sheriff’s Department handled a two-vehicle accident Friday night just before 6:30 at Main St at 2nd St. in Fairfield. According to deputies, both units were heading westbound on Main St. when the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado, 53-year-old Jose Castillo of Hampshire, IL from the right lane made a left turn onto 2nd St. when the truck struck a 2008 Buick Lacrosse driven by 53-year-old Jason Mason of Fairfield. Both Castillo and Mason were not injured. Jose Castillo was issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage.
Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a hit and run accident Sunday in Cisne. Deputies say a 2001 Dodge Dakota owned by Susan Robertson of Cisne was parked along the roadway overnight at 204 Milner St. Sometime Sunday, the Dakota was struck on the passenger side rear by an unknown vehicle causing damage.
