The McLeansboro Police Department recently added a new member to its team, K9 Polo, who will work alongside Sgt. Mathew Bryson. The duo completed a 10-week training program at the Illinois State Police Academy in Springfield. The acquisition of Polo was made possible through community donations, with various steps involved in the process including planning, selecting the academy, choosing the dog, outfitting a vehicle, and the training itself.
