Wayne County Sheriff’s Department along with Wayne City Fire and Ambulance personnel responded to a two-vehicle accident Monday night just before 5:30 west of Wayne City.  Deputies says a 2011 Ford Escape driven by 16-year-old Kaylee Bullard of Wayne City was stopped at the stop sign at South Rose Lane at the intersection of West Robinson St, which is IL 15.  Bullard told deputies that she saw  a 2004 GMC Yukon driven by 17-year-old Baylee Austin of Wayne City traveling westbound on West Robinson St but believed she had enough time to make it safely across the intersection and into the eastbound lane.  The Ford Escape that Bullard was driving proceeded onto West Robinson St. turning eastbound when it was struck head-on by the Austin vehicle.  Both Bullard and Austin were transported by Wayne City Ambulance to Fairfield Memorial Hospital.  A female passenger in each vehicle was not injured.  Kaylee Bullard was issued a citation for Failing To Yield Right-Of-Way At An Intersection
