The April, 2025 Consolidated Election is beginning to take shape in area communities as those running for office have recently filed their petition. In Wayne County, Clerk Liz Ann Woodrow says the school board elections will have numerous candidates in each district. Those filing their petitions include:
Jasper School – Filed Full Term: Jarad Blanton, Wesley Legg, Joshua Zurliene, Jon Lafikes, Shawn Otey
North Wayne – 2 yr term: Steven Harrison, Charles Gill, Trenton Simpson 4 Yr term: Justin Williams, Lindsey Edmison, Lee Garrett Hosselton, Eric Porter, John “Lee” Milligan, Matthew Moore, Joshua Atwood
New Hope School – 4 yr Term: Jeremy Vaughan, Tom Barton, Jeremy Gray, Billy Belangee, Jonathan Hase
Wayne City 100 – 4 Yr Term: Kirk Barnard, Mike Ehrhart, Ashley Musgrave, Stacia Slover, Samantha Anselment
Geff Grade School: 4 Yr term: Ross Basnett
Fairfield 112: 4 Yr Term: Jamie Jones, Karen Baker, Brandon Berghaus, Trinity Fry, Caleb Higginbotham, Rachel Ewing

In the City of Fairfield; for Fairfield Mayor, incumbent Gary Moore is running unopposed. City Clerk-Tina Hutchcraft, First Ward Alderman-Dewey Eckleberry, Second Ward Alderman-Clifford Reever and Angel Maguire,
Third Ward Alderman-Eugene McGill and Fourth Ward Alderman-Terry Stahl.
In Cisne; Mayor-Larry Obrecht, Clerk-Vicky Mugrage and Trustee with three to be elected-Charlie Brach, Jimmy Barnfield, Chad Cordill.
In Wayne City; Wayne City Mayor-Rocky Hedden and Steve Buxton and Trustee with three to be elected-Gary Cline,Tim Piper, Ronnie Williams, Paul Bruinsma, Jarod Peyton.
In McLeansboro, three individuals are running for Mayor. They include incumbent Chad May who will be challenged by Rodney Campbell and Derrick Hanson. There are also races in McLeansboro for three alderman positions. In Ward I, incumbent Tom Maulding will face Mike Scattone. In Ward II, Duke Griesemer will face off with Tom Murks. And in Ward III, Jeff Johnson will face Jody Braden.
In Hamilton County, five candidates will square off for 4 available seats on the school board. Names up for consideration on the ballot will be Andrea Short, Rick Rubenacker, Steve Becker, Mike Cunico, and Jeffrey Bowling.
White County School Board includes the NCOE School District, Grayville Unit 1, and Carmi-White Co Unit 5. There are three seats up for grabs in Carmi and only three on the ballot. They include Kelly Ackerman, Alex Youngblood, and Brent Edwards. Five candidates are vying for four seats on the NCOE Board of Education. They include Mike Hite, Heath Rush, Frank Graves, Aaron Summers, and Alex Ridge. Grayville Unit 1 is split between Edwards and White County. Bobbi Jo Browning is the only individual that has filed in White County for three spotsopen on the board.
