During Monday night’s meeting of the Fairfield Grade School Board, Superintendent Kristina Gardner shared positive news regarding the annual report cards for both North Side and Center Street Grade Schools, which received commendable ratings. She noted that the district has collected 37% of its revenue while spending 34% of its budget.

The food service program currently has a balance of $255,883.

Looking ahead, the tentative tax levy is set at 4.99%, which does not require a truth in taxation hearing.

In terms of immunization compliance, both schools are performing well, with North Side at 99.7% and Center Street at 98.3%. Superintendent Gardner also mentioned that the upcoming insurance renewal is expected to bring an 18% increase. To manage this cost, the district is considering moving funds to an Insured Cash Sweep account to benefit from higher interest rates.
