As the holiday season approaches, the American Red Cross is making a heartfelt appeal to the community: the need for blood and platelet donors has never been greater. With the festive hustle and bustle, the organization is striving to keep the blood supply stable, ensuring that patients in need receive the care they deserve.
To support this vital cause, several blood drives are scheduled in the Clay County area. The first event takes place on Monday, December 23rd, at the Clay County Health Department from 1 PM to 5 PM. Donors who participate will be rewarded with a long-sleeved Red Cross T-shirt, a reminder of their generous contribution.
Just a few days later, on Thursday, December 26th, the Clay County Hospital will host its own blood drive. Located in the conference infusion room of the Flora Clinic, this event runs from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Those wishing to donate can conveniently schedule their appointments by calling ImpactLife at 800-747-5401. In appreciation for their donations, participants will have the option to receive a gift card, contribute to a local food bank, or earn bonus points at a nearby store. It’s a chance for donors to not only help save lives but also give back to the community in multiple ways.
The final blood drive of the year is scheduled for December 31st at the Xenia Village Hall, where donors can give blood from 10 AM until 2 PM.
With a particular emphasis on the urgent need for type O blood and platelet donations, the Red Cross encourages everyone who is able to step forward. This holiday season, consider making a difference in the lives of others by donating blood.
