VEHICLE ACCIDENT EARLY SUNDAY MORNING SOUTH OF FAIRFIELD RESULTS IN THE DEATH OF A CLAY COUNTY WOMAN

Illinois State Police Troop 9 responded to a report of a single-vehicle fatal traffic crash just before 5am Sunday morning on U.S. 45 northbound just north of County Road 200N which is the Barnhill Crossroads and near Willow Creek Venue, south of Fairfield.  State Police say a Chevrolet Impala was traveling northbound on U.S 45 when it lost control, ran off the roadway to the west and rolled over.   The female was identified as 65-year-old Kim Davis from Louisville, IL.  Davis, the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene by Wayne County Coroner, Carrie Jo Dagg.  Illinois State Police and the Wayne County Coroner’s Office handled the accident.
